“Old and Rare Books” talk by Brattle Book Shop owner (2006-01-12)

Those interested in books may visit a lecture given by America’s Brattle Book Shop owner Kenneth Gloss on January 19. Gloss had worked in this one of the oldest and largest antiquarian national bookstores since childhood and now is the member of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America. The talk given is called "Treasures in Your Attic: Old and Rare Books" and is sponsored by the Gleason Public Library. Gloss will bring to the lecture several examples of interesting books, magazines and ephemera from the store's private collection; following the lecture and question-and-answer session he shall give free verbal appraisals of those books that people bring with them. The talk is to take place at the Carlisle Public School library at 83 School St. It is in the Robbins Building that is entered from the school plaza.
