On Friday, 2 Boston Conservatory Opera Division presents it’s performance “A Midsummer Night's Dream” based on the Shakespeare’s story. The scenario is written by Benjamin Britten's and runs February 2-4, 2006 at 8pm and February 5, 2006 at 2pm. A Midsummer Night's Dream is under the direction of Sanford Sylvan, who commented that the performance is a cue from Britten whose Dream is much darker than either Shakespeare's or Mendelssonh's. “The music of fairies is more frightening than fanciful and the depth of the lover's yearnings makes us grateful for the giddy bumblings of the rustics".
